The Apprentice review
The Apprentice staring Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump and Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn Follows the rise of infamous New York realtor and future President of the United States of America Donald Trump and how one man shaped who he would become. Jeremy Strong who is fresh off the back of Succession delivers a performance that can only be described as mesmerizing as he truly embodies this vile character in Roy Cohn and the academy thought so too as he received an Oscar Nomination For his work and rightfully so. The movie uses a large amount of hand held shots which allow us to feel as though we are getting a glimpse behind the scenes into this world which many of us will never be privy to, the film takes place over the course of many years from the early 70s up until the late 80s throughout the film we see Donald trump grow into the same maniacal figure that Cohn is portrayed as at the start but as Donald begins to lose his Humanity it appears that Cohn Gains his there is a symbolic Passing of the torch between the two in the later half of the film one which I will not mention as it spoils an integral plot point of the final third but we can truly see the man which Trump becomes at this part of the film and how we are ever shown the man that he is from then on out. All and all I would entirely recommend to those who haven’t yet to watch the Apprentice as I feel as though this will become a seminal piece of media in years to come. Final Score 7/10
